April 18, 2012 - Trying to block out the sadness

Sometimes this world can be so ugly. On Monday night homophobia was shown in Halifax in a very violent way by killing Raymond Taavel. My heart goes out to his friends, family, and community members.

April 11, 2012 "Falling over this city and the best of my worst ideas"

For the past couple of days I have had Chantal Kreviazuk's song "Before you" in my head. It was a favourite of mine when I was in my early 20s. Sometimes I am appalled at my taste in music from my early 20s (Britney Spears' first 2 albums can still be found in my music collection), but sometimes I'm surprised at some of the good stuff that was considered "pop." I mean, just because it's popular doesn't necessarily mean that it's crappy right? Well, that was reinforced to me today as I played Chantal's popular song. That song is pretty awesome! At the bottom of the playlist is a Grooveshark playlist of some of the songs I played this morning, including Chantal's song.
