Wow. What a morning! Winter is here. Usually I am happy for winter to be here, but I'm sure not ready. I guess I've been procrastinating putting away my garden hose and getting my yard ready for winter. Or maybe I was just in denial about it. Either way, our first snowfall has hit and while it's not likely to stick around, is a good reminder to get this stuff done once it melts! Last Friday night I had more hands rubbing my newly shaved head than I have had touch my head in my whole life! I guess it was kind of my debut after the big shave. A woman who I had never met before came up to me and told me that she donated to FM-Phasis so that I would shave my head! It was a cool night.

After a whirlwind of a week last week with the head shaving and all, I am settling back into regular programming here on CFCR as well as settling into having no hair. Before it was happening, I was very nervous and worried. Thinking back, I'm not even sure what I was nervous about! I guess I was worried about not recognizing myself or that not having hair would change me somehow. I have noticed people look at me differently - it's almost like people are looking at me like they are trying to figure me out or something; they look longer than they used to. Other than me being a bit colder than I used to be, I quite like having no hair! I'm a no muss, no fuss kind of person and this hairdo definitely works for that!

This morning it is beautiful outside in Saskatoon. With promises of a warm week and Thanksgiving weekend, I was excited to play a lot of music this morning. So I did. My voice sounds like crap because I have that cold that "going around" so I figure it's win-win. I don't talk, you don't hear me, and more music gets played. Good times!

In case you didn't hear, I'm shaving my head! This Friday on CFCR is when it's going to be happening. It will be videoed and will be happening ON AIR! During the Afternoon Buzz, I'm going to Buzz my head. The one and only Ricki, CFCR's volunteer coordinator, will be doing the deed while I close my eyes.
