Shaving my head for Community Radio!

This year for FM-Phasis I have decided to shave my head if I raise $2000 for my radio show. The most I have ever raised in my seven years of being the host of Wednesday's early Green Eggs and Ham show is around $1400. I am sure that you all will help me to achieve my goal! My lovely locks will be donated toward making wigs for cancer patients. Shaving my head takes it a step further!

Not everyone knows what I look like, so I though I would post some recent photos of me and my hair. Hopefully soon enough I will have a shaved head... with your help! If I raise $2000 for FM-Phasis I will, indeed, shave my head! Here are some photos...

FM-Phasis Sept. 22nd Money Playlist!

This week's show is all about money! Money makes the world go 'round and community radio is no exception. Every year we raise about $60,000 and every year we spend it on important equipment for the station... computers, transmitters, and anything else we need to make this the best radio station in Saskatoon! On top of all of this, there are tons of prizes to claim equaling your donation. It's such an amazing deal that you just can't pass up! In addition to all of this, if I make $2000 for my show, I will shave my head! Here is the Facebook event!

Interview with Sarah Harmer

On Wednesday, I got to interview Sarah Harmer! It was aired that day on the Afternoon Buzz, but I thought that y'all might want to hear it if you missed the buzz. The interview was great! Sarah (yeah, I can call her Sarah now) is really down-to-earth and humble. She was easy to talk to and answered all of the questions I had honestly and wonderfully, as I had expected her to. We chatted about her activism, her new album, and about the Odeon being an interesting venue for her. If you want to here it, please click here!

September 15th Playlist!

Every fall music takes over my life. There was a time when fall meant the new school year, but now it means music concerts, new albums, and being generally immersed in amazing musical talent from this country and beyond. I was asked yesterday by the powers at CFCR if I would interview Sarah Harmer. I said, "OMG. CAN I??" It was a win-win situation and I'm super excited to interview one of my musical idols. I'm also excited to see her on Friday. Alas, this week's playlist is infused with Sarah in all her glory. I hope you enjoyed this week's show!

September 8th Playlist!

Last week I was on the west coast so the lovely Tina hosted in my place. I'm confident that she did an amazing job at playing music for all you listeners! I picked up some albums when I was in Vancouver at Zulu Records, a great record shop full of new and used CDs. I also got to see Rae Spoon play at a small venue that is a great place to see shows with sit-down space and dancing space. It was an amazing trip... perhaps I'll put some photos on here for you all to enjoy. Stay tuned for that Phupdate coming up! Anyway, here is this week's playlist...
